Reuniting Sudanese Families: Canada’s New Humanitarian Pathway

As Canada continues to stand in solidarity with the people of Sudan amidst the ongoing conflict, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announces the launch of a new family-based humanitarian pathway. This initiative aims to provide a permanent solution for Sudanese and non-Sudanese nationals affected by the conflict, allowing them to reunite with their families residing in Canada.

About the Humanitarian Pathway
The newly announced humanitarian pathway, set to launch on February 27, 2024, offers an opportunity for individuals who resided in Sudan at the onset of the conflict on April 15, 2023, to reunite with their family members in Canada on a permanent basis.

Qualification Criteria
To qualify for this pathway, applicants must be:
  • A child of any age, grandchild, parent, grandparent, or sibling of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident living in Canada.
  • Their family member in Canada must agree to support and assist them in building their new life in Canada.
